The Cathedral Parish covers a total of 20 barangays or 61 percent of the total of 33 barangays of the municipality.
Of the 9,426 households as of 2000 as per NCSO report, about 57 percent of these are located in the area of jurisdiction
of the Cathedral Parish. Last December 2007, a total of 1,992 households were covered in the BEC survey representing 37
percent of the total households under the parish.

Of the total of 1,992 households surveyed, the dominant religion is Roman Catholicism representing 95 percent or 1,885
households, 26 or 1.3 percent belonged to UCCP, 11 or 0.6 percent belonged to Latter Day Saints, and the remaining number
of households belonged to Iglesia ni Kristo, Assembly of God, Born Again, Dating Daan, Jehovah’s Witness and Living Water
respectively.
The BEC survey conducted in 2007 December is a quantitative survey which intends to measure how many of the household
population residing in the area of jurisdiction of Our Lord’s Transfiguration of Palo are baptized, confirmed attend Sunday
obligations among others. It was agreed by the members of the Parish Pastoral Council to continue the survey until it would
be able to reach to at least 90 percent of the total households in each cluster to be able to have a reliable picture of the
situation in the parish.
